It seems to me that there are so many people out there intent on delivering a wholey negative and intolerant spin on whatever they get involved with. Some people only seem to see the bad side of most things. How can we best encourage a departure from such behaviour?

We need a media that celebrates life and all of its wonders! we need a political system that gives people the breathing space to enjoy life without the pressure of having to sweat blood in order to survive. We need the reinstatement of the family unit as a sacred thing, we need to encourage a step away from fear and misunderstanding, a step away from intolerance and resentment and a step towards loving thought and understanding of others . Maybe then our society will have a natural smile on its face what?

I think people need to realize that putting a negative spin on things will only make themselves feel worse. We need to find a way to help people realize just how lucky they are to have all the things they have.

The way people think comes from a lifetime of experiences and genetics, which causes people to have a tendency for positive or negative thoughts. Changing life experiences in a population is basically impossible unless you set off a huge volcano or something similar. In individuals however, the easiest way to get them to start thinking more positively is to let them know that they are thinking negatively. They should realize that all the negative thinking is causing their lives to not be as good as they could be since those thoughts are very stressful and unpleasant at times.

Most of it is dissatisfaction with our own lives. We need to clean
our own before trying to fix everything else. If more people were in church and living a Christian life, our society would be better off. We talk it but we need to live it.

Well, there are a lot of things that people are very bitter about these days that the government and the mainstream media either refuse to discuss or are insultingly dismissive about.

If we can finally get these things out in the open through constructive debate and can finally get things done about them then people will feel less bitter and less like powerless pawns and will start to engage more in society.

Encourage people to believe in themselves. Society seems to offer so much which is hard to obtain such as cars and houses and fashions and bright lights etc. There are those whose desire drives them to attain and those who are so overwhelmed by the cost of things they either go into a stupor or blame others or hate society.
Then there are the creators. The creators are those who are inspired by their own imagination, and these people have little time for the trivialities of society. An interesting experiment I tried once was to follow the instructions in a booklet that was sent to me which promised that if I tried this I would learn something interesting, and they were right, I learned the secret of life. It was at first glance silly, but you’ve got to try it to appreciate it. It was called "millionaire in 28 steps’ and the idea was to ‘find’ a penny then find a way to double it, then double that etc 28 times gives you in excess of a million, but the trick was to play it as a game doing one step at a time. These steps were not to interfere with your normal life , but to be added as a sort of ‘thing to do’ at the back of your mind. The reason why it is educational is because as you achieve each step you feel a success and only after achieving step one do you then focus on step two. It’s not long before you find your mind thinking ahead for ideas to achieve steps two or three places in the future. And you fill wiht creativity and realise that life is all about acievement. Very inspirational and a lesson to everyone who blames the world!
