    EX disabled service …
EX disabled service man// cop–sometimes we all feel like sheep being led to the slaughter- Alone 20 miles inside enemy territory–Being shot at with a semi and you have a hand gun–If it wasn’t for the Positive thinking–I would have never shown up for duty.

Also If you think about it we are all sheep headed for the slaughter, some sooner than others.

    What happened was, …
What happened was, a person a few pages back wasn’t happy with the fact that there are sheep in this advert who are going to slaughterhouse. Even though this is just an advert and it was a joke. There are far more awful websites out there making fun of coloured people, fat people, disabled people, etc but he seems more offended over sheep.

This then evolved into an argument about the treatment of animals, vegetarianism, etc.

    Where we should be …
Where we should be looking is in the EVOLVED MENTAL charcteristics that let us understand the distress we cause to our victims and the impact of choices on our environment and our bodies. Some of us have already evolved to realise that, others haven’t quite got there yet…

  14. britches1985 says:

    Humans are capable …
Humans are capable of all these traits yet the majority of us understand that these are not acceptable. Therefore it is clear that an evolved characteristic does not confer moral acceptance. Our success as a species is not down to our ability to consume food, it is in our ability to act sociably.

  15. britches1985 says:

    These arguments …
These arguments aside however, the point that continues to be ignored is the fact that as humans with thinking brains we are able to make MORAL decisions. An evolved ability does not lead directly to its moral acceptability. We can easily see why this is so by replacing eating meat with some other human traits such as stealing, lying, raping, murdering etc.

  16. britches1985 says:

    The term …
The term opportunist is exactly what humans have become too but that doesn’t mean we NEED animal flesh for health.

  17. britches1985 says:

    No, anatomically we …
No, anatomically we are NOT like true Omnivores. We have neither the necessary sharp tools (teeth, claws), digestive biochemistry, fleetness of foot, nor animal-killing instincts that have co-evolved with the alleged ‘evolution’ to omnivore. We share all the anatomical characheristics of a herbivore but more than that, we have an True, we share our DNA most closely with chimps, of which there are two kinds. One is herbivore, or more specifically frugivore, the other is an opportunist omnivore.

  18. britches1985 says:

:) Ok, so we used …
:) Ok, so we used to have long pointy teeth that were sharp so we could catch and kill our prey but then we learned to use tools and they flattened out? Yes, OBVIOUSLY. And we used to kill that prey with our bare hands and gorge on the raw meat too but then we discovered it tasted better cooked, did we?

  19. Blueman2805 says:

    We are the only …
We are the only animals which store meat as well, which is how bacteria are able to flourish. As for gorillas, I advise you to find the video on this website of a gorilla throwing up, eating the half-digested contents of its stomach, throwing up again, and repeating the process. As I said, chimpanzees are more closely related to us and as you will see, they are omnivorous.

  20. Blueman2805 says:

    Other animals eat …
Other animals eat fresh meat from animals which were living mere moments ago. This does not kill you – you can kill and eat a cow, as long as you do it quickly, without cooking it. We cook meat firstly because it improves the taste, and secondly because our meat now comes to us coated in bacteria. It is perfectly possible to eat raw meat, though – that’s what steak tartar is. Or you could order your steak bleu.

  21. Blueman2805 says:

    The girl’s …
The girl’s condition was a result of a lack of oily fish and dairy products. Sunlight alone doesn’t provide you with vitamin D which you require. And I do actually see the calls to have child obesity made a symptom of child abuse – it’s in the news all the time at the moment.

  22. Blueman2805 says:

    You share 75% of …
You share 75% of your DNA with a banana, but that doesn’t mean you can grow from a tree and soak up sunlight. You share 99% of your DNA with a chimpanzee, which are omnivores just like us. We are evolved to eat BOTH meat and vegetation, not one or the other exclusively.

  23. Blueman2805 says:

    Eating meat in the …
Eating meat in the right amounts has a beneficial effect on your health. Yes, you can get the same effect from eating about 20x this (in terms of weight) of plants and roots. If you think our teeth aren’t sharp, that’s because you’ve never stuck your finger into the mouth of a teething baby. No one has ever bitten you with force. And, obviously, the reason our canines are no longer sharp is because we learned a long time ago that we can kill using tools, so we no longer need those sharp ones

  24. britches1985 says:

    A balanced vegan …
A balanced vegan diet requires no artificial supplements and in the case of lysine, there are plenty of naturally high non-animal sources of it including many fruits, nuts, grains and vegetables.

  25. britches1985 says:

In the case of the …
In the case of the 12 year old girl with rickets, she was lacking in Vitamin D due to a poorly planned diet and lack of natural sunlight – she lived in Glasgow. Vitamin D can be obtained from sunlight, and is in all plant-based milk substitutes and fortified cereals etc. The child’s condition was the result of long-standing neglect, not veganism. I don’t see the papers picking up every case of child obesity caused by over-consumption of burgers and milkshakes and calling it abuse.

crikey does no one (except the fella who came up with the concept of this ad) have a sense of humour? There is light at the end of the tunnel. ER, isn’t there? Mr Morton now you’re looking rather sheepish…

well done, one of the funnier ads for a while
